Mountain Goat

Habitat: 

The habitat of the mountain goat, also known as the Rocky Mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus), consists of rugged and mountainous regions in North America. These sure-footed creatures are primarily found in the Rocky Mountains, Cascade Range, and other mountain ranges from southern Alaska to the western United States. Their preferred habitats include steep slopes, cliffs, rocky outcrops, and alpine meadows at elevations ranging from 6,000 to 13,000 feet (1,800 to 4,000 meters). These high-altitude environments provide the mountain goats with protection from predators and abundant grazing opportunities. They are exceptionally adapted to their challenging habitats, using their sharp, cloven hooves and muscular bodies to navigate the rocky terrain with ease, even in areas that seem nearly inaccessible to other animals. Their ability to thrive in such extreme conditions showcases their resilience and makes them true masters of their alpine domains.
